Despite decades of reform, there are significant challenges for those experiencing mental health problems and for our policy and health service response. In the Newcastle Institute’s July webinar, three internationally and nationally renowned experts will discuss the challenges and solutions for mental health in Australia:

  • Professor Patrick McGorry AO, former Australian of the Year and Professor of Youth Mental Health at University of Melbourne
  • Professor Frances Kay-Lambkin, Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of Research & Innovation and Mental health researcher at the University of Newcastle
  • Dr Brendan Flynn, Director Medical Services, Hunter New England LHD Mental Health Services, Conjoint Senior Lecturer, University of Newcastle

The general public can watch the webinar freee via live stream on the Newcastle Institute Facebook page. Members will receive a Zoom webinar invitation and instructions via email. The webinar recording will be placed on the Institute’s website, hopefully the day after the event.
